OmnisGM Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-10

These are the terms of service for OmnisGM. We've tried to write them in plain language. By using OmnisGM, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.

By "OmnisGM," "we," and "the service" we mean the family of products under the OmnisGM brand: the app at omnisgm.com (character sheets for tabletop role-playing games), the reference reader at rules.omnisgm.com, and the news digest at news.omnisgm.com. The service is operated by an individual developer, a resident of the Republic of Moldova (no legal entity). You can reach us at [email protected].

1. What OmnisGM is

OmnisGM is a tool for tabletop role-playing games. The main product helps you run D&D character sheets in real time around one table. The reference reader and the news digest are open pages that anyone can use without an account.

Right now the service is free and provided "as is." It's an independent indie project, not a company with round-the-clock support. We keep working on it, but we don't promise uninterrupted operation, and we may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.

2. Your account

To use the app at omnisgm.com you need an account. Sign-in is Google only — we don't have a separate password, and we don't store passwords. By managing access to your Google account, you also manage access to OmnisGM.

You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you notice that someone else has gained access to it, email us at [email protected].

3. Your content

Everything you create in the service — games, characters and sheets, items, notes — is your content. It belongs to you, not to us.

So that the service can work, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive technical license to that content — strictly to the extent needed to run OmnisGM. This means we may:

  • store your content;
  • show it to you and to other members of the same game according to their roles;
  • make technical backups.

We don't use your game content for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't share it with third parties beyond what's needed to run the service. This license lasts while your content is in the service and ends when you delete it (subject to a reasonable backup retention period).

4. How you may and may not use the service

We ask you to use OmnisGM fairly. You may not:

  • break the law or post unlawful content;
  • post someone else's content that you don't have the rights to;
  • abuse, harass, or deceive other members;
  • try to hack the service, bypass access controls, disrupt the infrastructure, or reach other people's data;
  • scrape data automatically, or load the service with bots or excessive requests;
  • impersonate another person or us.

You're responsible for the content you create and upload.

5. Games and roles

The app has roles. The Game Master (GM) runs their game: they can invite and remove members and transfer the GM role to another member. By joining a game, you agree that the GM manages that game's roster and that other members will see your game content to the extent set by the roles.

6. Invitations

There are two ways to invite someone to a game: with an invite link or (once this feature ships) by email — when the GM invites a person who isn't in the service yet.

By inviting someone by email, the GM confirms they're entitled to give us that address to send the invitation. We use such an address only to invite the person to the game and to link them to the invitation when they sign up — not for marketing, and not to share with third parties. An invited person can ask us to delete their address at any time by writing to [email protected]; if the GM revokes the invitation, the record is deleted too. An unused invitation expires automatically (no later than 60 days).

7. Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete your account yourself from your profile (once this feature ships, you'll first need to delete your games or transfer the GM role to another member). Until that feature is available, deletion happens on request at [email protected]. When your account is deleted, your sign-in record and the data associated with you (characters, game membership) are deleted.

We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms. Except where that's not possible (for example, a serious violation or a legal requirement), we'll let you know.

8. No warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will run without interruptions, errors, or data loss, and we don't offer a service level agreement (SLA).

Please don't treat OmnisGM as the only place your important data lives. We make technical backups to run the service, but we recommend keeping your own copy of anything you care about.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it.

Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us for the service over the past 12 months. Because the service is currently free, that amount is zero.

Nothing in these terms limits liability to the extent it can't be limited by law.

10. Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you're in the EU and under 16, you need consent from a parent or guardian where national law requires it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll show the last-updated date at the top of the document. If the changes are significant, we'll try to let you know in a reasonable way. By continuing to use the service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Moldova. For any questions, including questions about your data and rights, write to [email protected].
